Upon making this sequence, I realized what was before me was a manifestation of a German Cross. Why did I need a German Cross? Raised Lutheran, it is part of the context of my upbringing. But still, why did I need a German Cross? 'Once a Lemon' is the first part of a common phrase, used as a title, it is meant as a critique of this symbols use through history, and a sad history in many ways, in spite of all the graciousness bound to the German Christian tradition. 'By grace through faith,' thank you Martin Luther and Paul. It is perched on what is a rendering of a Japanese icecream confection called a Monika. A floating cage of sorts.
